Our story
A personal story, scaled
While studying at university Chris was diagnosed with dyslexia.
The experience of completing a cognitive assessment was genuinely transformative for Chris. It gave him a framework to understand how he thinks and learns as an individual.
But like many people, he was understandably frustrated that he had to wait until university to get it.
When he was growing up, no one was talking about neurodiversity and he had to figure coping strategies on his own.
With a new understanding of his cognition, Chris built a variety of strategies to use in the working world that have helped him reach the highest levels of success.
But Chris knew there would be people like himself with hidden needs and people who may not yet have the cognitive tools to work towards their strengths.
Everyone deserves the opportunity to understand this vital part of who they are and work in an environment that helps them to thrive at every level of education and work.
Our diversity is our greatest asset.
And from that idea, Cognassist was born.
Our mission in education
You’ll hear us say this a lot: we’re on a mission to make sure no learner is left behind. We’re passionate about creating a more inclusive world, reducing barriers to education and helping every learner reach their full potential.
Our ambition in the workplace
Our ambition is simple: to help HR leaders embrace neurodiversity at work. We’re passionate about giving employees the keys to their own cognition to understand how they think and learn, make informed decisions about their future and improve their lives.
What are we building? Learning 2.0
What would it look like if educators and employers fully embraced neurodiversity and a personalised approach to learning and development?
Every person would receive a digital cognitive assessment on induction to help them understand how they think and learn.
Leaders would have specialised training to talk to each individual about their cognition, how it can affect their learning and how their cognitive profile can be their greatest asset in work and in life.
We would have the knowledge to make good on our responsibility to implement reasonable adjustments and offer more flexible ways of working from day one.
Digital resources and tools could be tailored to individuals’ stronger cognitive abilities to aid comprehension while also receiving support in development areas, helping us to meet everyone’s needs.
Whether it’s a learner and their tutor in education or an employee and their manager in work, people in every organisation would work together to adopt new strategies and ways of working to see what works and what doesn’t. Making the learning and work environments more dynamic and flexible.
And we could see success rates skyrocket, with greater retention and inclusivity across organisations.
We’re on a mission to make sure no one is left behind and that every diverse mind can thrive.
And we want you to join us.
